meet The Jadeite Shutter’s summer intern!
June 15, 2017

Hooray! I’m excited to share today about a new Jadeite team member… Sasha! Sasha will be my summer intern and I am already so very grateful for all the help and expertise she has provided. I thought it would be fun for ya’ll to get to know her a bit more so we did a little interview…

What are some of your favorite hobbies?

I love doing anything DIY. I’m currently working on refinishing a couple of dressers, but I also like sewing and quilting. My husband, Nick, and I recently discovered a love of puzzling, as well. We just finished a 2000 piece one – our biggest yet!

What excites you most about photography?

Life goes by so quickly, so I love having nice, quality images to look back on. It’s one thing my family really didn’t do growing up, so I’ve made it a mission to make sure we have plenty of photos to look back on now that I have a family of my own.

What are some of your local favorite places to go?

I spend a lot of time at The Howe (maybe because I bartend there, hehe), but I love taking my son to this coffee shop/play area called Sovereign Grounds. When my husband and I get time for a date night, Memory Lanes usually does the trick for us.

How do you like your coffee?

Generally, pretty sweet! I make my own creamer at home, so I can totally customize the flavor and level of sweetness.

Minneapolis or St. Paul and why?

Minneapolis. I grew up in a small town, so when I moved to the cities, I was automatically a Minneapolis girl. I really don’t know any different!

Favorite season and why?

It’s a toss up for me; I met my husband in the spring and our son was born about 6 years (almost to the day) after we met. However, we tied the knot in the fall and I love everything about the season — the colors, the weather, Halloween.

What you hope to get out of the internship?

I’m hoping to learn how Katie runs such a successful small business! My husband and I would love to have our own business at some point and the guidance and mentorship from this internship will be invaluable!
