MemorialDay-2 me
May life report
June 7, 2016

May flew by and I’m in a bit of shock that June is already here, and getting close to the halfway mark. Whew!

I have very few plans for the summer which I am loving. Usually I take a few trips and this year I’m only planning on being out of the state once for a family reunion in Savannah, Georgia. I am so looking forward to that!

Since I’m not planning on much travel I am looking forward to all the things that make a Minnesota summer divine: farmer’s markets {my church is opening up one! hooray!}, garage sales {except I don’t need anything}, BBQs {already have joined the Fergusons for a few}, and sitting out on patios. I feel like I have a whole new world to explore since this is my first summer living in Saint Paul.

A few things to note as of late:

Memorial Day started summer off to an excellent start with a dinner party at dad’s. I added those baby breath flowers from a recent shoot :)

My mom and stepdad recently adopted a puppy. Trudy is a German, wirehaired pointer and is delightfully cute and quite smart. She hasn’t mastered walks super well, but can fetch great.

I’ve been enjoying baking and cooking again! My co-worker Amy had a birthday recently and didn’t want a dessert. As a savory, cheese, carb loving girl myself I couldn’t agree more. I made this fresh dill and cheese scone recipe, so yummy! I even froze some of unbaked scones for another time. Easy!

I had some girlfriends over a few weeks ago. We drank wine {obviously}, ate fancy cheese with bread, and walked to Menchie’s frozen yogurt for dessert. I have been feeling really grateful for my sweet friends lately. I really love them. Also, that lavender plant died two days later? I can’t keep plants alive to save my life.

At the end of May my church hosted its annual women’s retreat at Shepard’s Hill Farm. I love, love, love that place and was so happy to be back for another year. A friend from church and I co-wrote and designed a week-long devotional for each attendee.
